SUSTAINABILITY FEATURES

SUSTAINABILITY FEATURES

In line with our concept to build for tomorrow, Le Jadis Beach Resort & Wellness is integrated with innovative green features with a view to preserve our island’s pristine beauty and contribute to the environment.

IN-HOUSE DESALINATION PLANT
Seawater is extracted from the ocean, half of which goes towards our bottling system to produce pure drinking water via reverse osmosis while the other half is used in our hotel operations. With this practice, our island resort is able to sustainably produce its own drinking water and drastically reduce its consumption of fresh water, which is especially helpful during Mauritius’ dry season or periods of drought.

ECO-FRIENDLY POOL SANITISATION
All our pools, from the Lagoona Pool to the Infinity Lap Pool, including our 34 private infinity pools, are naturally sanitised, minimising our reliance on harmful chemicals. The natural sanitiser is safe, eco-friendly, and gentle to the skin.

SOLAR WATER HEATING
Every suite and villa is equipped with solar panels for water heating. Our boilers are also being gradually replaced with solar panels in an effort to maximise the use of natural sources of energy and be more ecological.

ENERGY-SAVING SENSORS
Public area restrooms are equipped with presence indicator sensors. In-room wardrobes and kitchen pantries are designed with door sensors. Air-conditioners switch off automatically when the doors remain open. And our property makes use of economic LED and solar lighting. All these allow us to continuously preserve energy and reduce waste.

GREYWATER IRRIGATION
Greywater from our resort’s wastewaters is used to irrigate our plants. This practice not only lowers our demand on public water, but also reduces the amount of wastewater entering sewers, thus helping to preserve our ocean.

INDIGENOUS PLANTS & COMPOST
Our resort’s landscaping concept evolved around endemic plants, with the majority of the plants on our grounds being indigenous to Mauritius. These plants, once established, require less water to grow. We also have a natural composting system in place, which allows our greenery to blossom naturally.

NATURAL HERB GARDEN
Small yet full of charm, our home-grown herb garden is the pride of our dedicated team. The beautiful array of herbs enlivens our resort landscape while allowing our kitchen experts to create flavourful dishes with the freshest of herbs.

DESIGNED FOR GUESTS WITH PHYSICAL CHALLENGES

A specially designed suite for guests with physical challenges is also available. Located on the ground floor, the suite boasts an expansive wheelchair-accessible bathroom, private infinity pool, and garden.
