We are located nearby the Balaclava-Turtle Bay Marine Park, the first of only two national marine parks of Mauritius. The capital city Port Louis, the vibrant tourist village of Grand Baie, and the Mont Choisy Le Golf estate are each within a 20-minutes’ drive from our luxury hideaway while the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is 45 minutes away via a scenic car ride.
Conquer one of the glorious mountains of our paradise island during a picturesque hike. Beginners will enjoy the paved footpath along Signal Mountain while thrill-seekers can challenge themselves to the more ambitious trail of Le Pouce. Both mountains are located on the boundary of the nearby district of Port Louis.
Just 15 minutes north of our five-star resort, Mont Choisy Le Golf will answer all your golf needs. The large estate consists of an 18-hole championship golf course, chipping and pitching areas, putting greens, as well as a 300-metre double-ended driving range.
HISTORY & CULTURE
Located just 20 minutes from our island resort, the Capital and main port of Mauritius is a must-visit for culture aficionados. Begin with a tour of the central market for an insight into our colourful local produce and crafts. Follow up with a visit to the Blue Penny, National, or Postal Museum to discover our rich history and cultural heritage. Saunter along to the Aapravasi Ghat UNESCO World Heritage Centre where the modern indentured labour diaspora began, before strolling along the Caudan Waterfront. Then check out the Champs de Mars race course, the oldest horse race track in the southern hemisphere. Hop on to Fort Adelaide (La Citadelle) and end your excursion beautifully with a superb panoramic view of the Capital.
Situated in nearby Pamplemousse, the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden is the oldest Botanic Garden in the Southern hemisphere at nearly 300 years old and is a popular tourist attraction, especially among nature lovers. Stroll along its pond of famous giant water lilies. Survey its extravagant diversity of endemic plants. Enrich your cultural knowledge of our island through the numerous historical monuments and sites. And seek comfort among the giant tortoises, deer, fish, birds, and bats, which call the 37-hectare garden, home.
At a mere 20 minutes’ drive from our exclusive resort lies the undisputed centre of the Mauritian nightlife: Grand Baie. The vibrant seaside village is a popular hotspot with its array of clubs and bars.
Shopping lovers will delight in our resort’s proximity to various shopping destinations. Hop over to the shopping strip of Arsenal village, located just 5 minutes from our beach resort, which features a selection of high-end branded shops, including cashmere clothing and artisanal shops. Alternatively, head over to the Mahogany Shopping Promenade, which is a mere 10 minutes away, or take the short 20-min drive to the malls of Port Louis Waterfront or Grand Baie La Croisette, for some more extensive retail therapy.
In line with our concept to build for tomorrow, Le Jadis Beach Resort & Wellness is integrated with innovative green features with a view to preserve our island’s pristine beauty and contribute to the environment.
IN-HOUSE DESALINATION PLANT
Seawater is extracted from the ocean, half of which goes towards our bottling system to produce pure drinking water via reverse osmosis while the other half is used in our hotel operations. With this practice, our island resort is able to sustainably produce its own drinking water and drastically reduce its consumption of fresh water, which is especially helpful during Mauritius’ dry season or periods of drought.
ECO-FRIENDLY POOL SANITISATION
All our pools, from the Lagoona Pool to the Infinity Lap Pool, including our 34 private infinity pools, are naturally sanitised, minimising our reliance on harmful chemicals. The natural sanitiser is safe, eco-friendly, and gentle to the skin.
SOLAR WATER HEATING
Every suite and villa is equipped with solar panels for water heating. Our boilers are also being gradually replaced with solar panels in an effort to maximise the use of natural sources of energy and be more ecological.
Public area restrooms are equipped with presence indicator sensors. In-room wardrobes and kitchen pantries are designed with door sensors. Air-conditioners switch off automatically when the doors remain open. And our property makes use of economic LED and solar lighting. All these allow us to continuously preserve energy and reduce waste.
Greywater from our resort’s wastewaters is used to irrigate our plants. This practice not only lowers our demand on public water, but also reduces the amount of wastewater entering sewers, thus helping to preserve our ocean.
INDIGENOUS PLANTS & COMPOST
Our resort’s landscaping concept evolved around endemic plants, with the majority of the plants on our grounds being indigenous to Mauritius. These plants, once established, require less water to grow. We also have a natural composting system in place, which allows our greenery to blossom naturally.
NATURAL HERB GARDEN
Small yet full of charm, our home-grown herb garden is the pride of our dedicated team. The beautiful array of herbs enlivens our resort landscape while allowing our kitchen experts to create flavourful dishes with the freshest of herbs.
Our resort is proudly designed to cater to guests with physical challenges. It is equipped with a lift and designed with gentle slopes, allowing wheelchair access to our common areas. A specially designed suite for guests with physical challenges is also available. Located on the ground floor, the suite boasts an expansive wheelchair-accessible bathroom, private infinity pool, and garden.
From getting our hands dirty while cleaning the neighbouring village of Petit Gamin and Le Goulet beach, to organising Christmas gift-giving fairs for children from vulnerable communities in our locality, and hosting disadvantaged children for a fun-filled day at our resort, our passionate team does not hesitate to devote its time and energy towards helping our community.
We are honoured by the international recognition that we have collected over the years.
