This vision has now been recognised on the global stage: we are proud to announce that Le Jadis has been awarded the 2025 International Sustainability Award (ISA) for our pioneering eco-luxury practices.

A Global Recognition of Local Commitment

Since opening our doors in 2010, we have been committed to embedding sustainability across every aspect of our design, operations, and guest experience. Receiving the ISA is not only an honour for our resort, but also a recognition that luxury and environmental stewardship can thrive together in harmony.

Building with Nature in Mind

Le Jadis was crafted using long-lasting, low-impact natural materials such as hand-cut stone, marble, rattan, and solid timber. This approach allows us to significantly extend refurbishment cycles, thereby reducing embodied carbon emissions, while preserving an aesthetic that is timeless and elegant.

Harnessing the Power of the Sun

Energy efficiency is central to our philosophy. All private guest accommodations and wellness facilities are powered by rooftop solar water heating systems. Energy-efficient lighting and sensor-activated climate controls complement this initiative, ensuring comfort without compromise.

Water: Conserved, Recycled, and Protected

We are particularly proud of our water initiatives. An on-site reverse osmosis bottling facility transforms raw seawater into premium still drinking water, served exclusively in reusable glass bottles. This step alone eliminates approximately 48,300 single-use plastic bottles each year. Our indigenous xeriscape gardens, irrigated with more than 75% recycled greywater, both protect Mauritius’ endemic flora and conserve roughly 5,475 m³ of potable water annually.

Looking Ahead

Our sustainability journey continues. Recent milestones include eliminating plastic straws in favour of biodegradable alternatives. Upcoming initiatives are equally ambitious like the installation of a photovoltaic system capable of producing 1,200 kWh of clean electricity daily.
